Betty Hauenstein, 93 died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at 7:24 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home if Bluffton.
She was born on March 24, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Samuel and Marie Anna (Bastardi) Meringleo who preceded her in death.
On March 25, 1944 ,she married C. Wayne Hauenstein and he died on April 15, 1987.
Betty retired from Ohio Northern University where she worked in the maintenance department. She was a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Women's Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed Polka dancing. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center of Bluffton.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper recently recognized a pair of Bluffton athletes on its prestigious Division III Players to Watch list for the 2018 season. Senior Ryan Golden (Findlay) and sophomore Chase Lawniczak (Toledo/Whitmer) were both honored in the January 5 issue of CBN!
Mike Diller, who has spent more of his working life in the flooring business, will take over ownership of Diller Flooring and Interiors, operated since 2009 by his parents Dan and Lori Diller, who are retiring.
Mike said that the business name and hours will remain the same. He plans to continue all of the products and brand names already serviced by the 119 N. Main St., business.
Diller Flooring and Interiors offers carpets, hardwood flooring, tile, custom blinds and paint, which include many familiar brand names.
One of the biggest surprises Icon viewers don't know about Bluffton is that we are home to at least one musk ox. Ask any student at Bluffton Child Development Center for details. We discoved this Christmas musk ox in the BCDC hallway in a recent visit.
