Bluffton 8th grade students recently participated in Meals til Monday's Miss a Meal Program, according to Dan Smith, 7th and 8th grade math teacher.
Meals til Monday is a local organization that provides meals on the weekend to school children whose primary source of good nutrition is school lunches.
Bluffton 8th graders were encouraged to pack their lunch and donate the money they would have spent to Meals til Monday.
Kathy Keller, Director of the Lima Small Business Development Center, Rhodes State College, has received the 2017 Ohio SBDC Peer Recognition Award for Collaboration.
This statewide award recognizes innovation, advocacy, collaboration, marketing, and mentoring.
The nomination was based on her involvement with the YEA! Program and the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurship’s Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition, among numerous other smaller projects.
Catherine M. Weyer, 86, died Jan. 2, 2018, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. Catherine was born Dec. 28, 1931, in St. Marys, Ohio to the late Burdette and Florence (Peters) Bowsher. On April 22, 1950, she married Robert Weyer who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2014.

Betty Moser is the winner of a quilt raffle project conducted by St. John's United Church of Christ. The drawing was held on Jan. 2 and the proceeds from the raffle will go toward local missions.
