Amy Blackburn, board president: "“It’s wonderful to have Amy back with us"

Amy Byers is no stranger to Bluffton Family Recreation.

The 2009 Bluffton University Health, PE and Recreation graduate, previously served as BFR’s sports coordinator, was a member of BFR’s board, and as a university student, worked the BFR front desk.

Upon the recent resignation of Joseph Beagle, BFR director, the BFR board approached Byers to return as its sports coordinator. She accepted and her first day on the job was Monday.

Class lists posted at 5 p.m., Wednesday

Ready for school? Here's the Bluffton elementary August newsletter, which includes all the back-to-school information parents need.

• Class lists will be posted on Wednesday, Aug. 16, after 5 p.m. on the elementary front entrance doors.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES:  The school supply list is posted on the school website.  Kindergarten student supplies will be furnished in their classrooms.

MEET THE TEACHER:  We will hold our “Meet the Teacher” on Friday, Aug. 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the elementary school.

The annual Ada event couldn't go on without their assistance

Here they are, Mr. and Mrs. F & M Picnic, for many years now. Kenny Wolke, longtime Ada War Memorial Park superintendent, and his wife, Eva, have a lot to do with the success of the annual festival, not for all of its 104 years of existence, but for several decades. Kenny explains some of what it takes to prepare for the multi event extravaganza.
