Chamber breakfast features Matt Ellerbrock and Chris Schroeder

Matt Ellerbrock and Chris Schroeder will offer a program of healthy habits for living at the Friday morning Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

The breakfast is served in the town hall with breakfast from 7 to 7:30 a.m. and the program from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

Ellerbrock Spine and Soft Tissue is the program sponsor. The Dough Hook will provide breakfast.

The program will also include a recap of last month’s arts and crafts show, according to Phil Zimmerly, chamber director.

Here's the May Bluffton police log

Bluffton police had 571 calls for service in May. There were 42 reportable incidents and 6 traffic crashes handled. Here's the May docket, plus one event from April, provided by Tyler Hochstetler, department sergeant.

On the morning of April 21, officers with the Bluffton Police Department assisted the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office who were searching for two burglary suspects south of the Village of Pandora near the intersection of Pandora Road and Bixel Road.

All playoff games during first four rounds will be on Friday nights

The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the football regions and schedule format for the 2017 playoffs. New in 2017, all playoff games during the first four rounds will be played on Friday nights.

Bluffton Public Library hosts a program "Butterflies and Bees," at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 6.

Program presenters are Barb Snyder and Kim Thomas, master gardeners volunteers from Hardin County.

The program is arranged by the Gardeners of the Bluffton/Pandora Area and it is free and open to the public, according to Victoria Zeits, president of the club.

Registration for July 8 available on line

Eight major sponsors are part of this year’s 3rd annual Ride to Remember, set for Saturday, July 8, in Bluffton.

The popular bike ride offers routes from 2 miles all the way to 112 miles Gran Fondo. A mass start is at 8 a.m. from Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

Developmental program and prep program options

"If you are looking to take the next step in your athletic career, elevate training is for you. The summer months offers a great chance to elevate your game to the next level," according to Joseph Beagle, BFR director.

BFR’s training includes weight training, skill development and agility. Training is for high school through adults.

Matt Gillett, BFR sports coordinator and personal trainer, leads these sessions, available at $25 for a one-hour session or $120 for a package of six sessions.
