Exhibit opens June 9; artist reception July 16

Thirty-four works in various media by Ohio artist Chris Leeper will be displayed in the Ellen Nelson Gallery of ArtSpace/Lima beginning Friday, June 9, according to Bill Sullivan.

The exhibit will  run through Saturday, July 22.  There will  be a reception for the artist on Sunday, July 16, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Leeper is a prominent Ohio painter and watercolorist and resident in Canfield.  He is a member of the adjunct faculty in the Department of Art at Youngstown State University.

The following births were reported by Bluffton Hospital for the month of May.

Family-oriented movies Sunday nights this summer

Emmanuel United Church of Christ opens its summer outdoor family-oriented movie festival on Sunday evening, June 11.

Movie night starts at 6 p.m., at the church, 8375 Phillips Road.

All movies are free and open to the public. There will be drinks, candy, and popcorn provided.

Here comes the class of 2017

Each Bluffton High School graduating class has its own personality. Each carries its own identity.

Take number 136 -  the 2017 graduating class. Born in an earlier century; graduating in another.

They carry familiar Bluffton surnames of Basinger, Burkholder, Geiser, Huber, Klingler, Koontz, Schmutz, Schumacher, Steiner, Stratton and others.

They carry names that join the Bluffton cannon of surnames, including Tatarkov, Talwar, Spiridigliozzi, Kirkendall, Hill, Chancey, Bicknell and others.
