Bishop Daniel G. Beaudoin will preach at the 3 p.m. Sunday service

The English Lutheran Church congregation will dedicate its newly renovated worship space during a 3 p.m., Sunday, April 30, service, according to Rev. Kevin Mohr, pastor.

The worship space dedication completes a building and renovation project begun in 2015.

"The worship space plan involved renovating and flipping the orientation of our current sanctuary by 180 degrees, with two new entrances from the new addition, one ramped, into the renovated sanctuary," said Rev. Mohr.

Sam Diller’s resume includes participation in nearly every Bluffton organization.

But, until this year, he’s never been a rainbow trout.

That changes on Sunday, May 7, as the Bluffton Sportsmen’s Club honors Diller, retired Bluffton attorney. The club has named its trout number 1 in Diller’s honor: “Sudden Sam.”

Tom Schaaf of Bluffton will share stories and photos of his trip to Cuba with the Bluffton Lions. The meeting is at noon, Tuesday, May 2, in the town hall.

Spring clean-up dates for village residents are set. Dumpsters will be located in the Spring Street recycling center, 455 N. Spring, from May 19 to May 30.

Items that may not be disposed of include hazardous material (motor oil, paint, ect.), vehicle batteries and tires.

Appliances that use Freon, such as refrigerators, will not be accepted unless the item is certified that the Freon has been legally removed and disposed of.

The Village of Bluffton is accepting applications for lifeguards and management for the 2017 Bluffton swimming pool season.

Applications are available at the town hall lobby, 154 N. Main St. Persons with questions can contact 418-358-2066.
