Classified Ad page will list all job openings within 10 miles of Bluffton and Ada

Bluffton and Ada Icons are partnering with Ohio Means Jobs,  a program of Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Both Icons will list current job openings within a 10-mile radius of Bluffton and Ada. These listings are on the Icon Classified/Display Ad Page.

Here is a description of services offered by Department of Job and Family Services:

Local students named to Bluffton’s dean’s list

Bluffton University has announced its dean’s list for the fall term. Students with a GPA of 3.6 or higher are eligible for the dean’s list. 

Undergraduates are:
Melissa Graham, Bluffton
Briar Pina Shisler, Bluffton
Amy Warren, Jenera
Olivia Whitaker, Bluffton

Students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 based on 20 semester hours received dean’s list with distinction for continued high achievement.

30-minute session for 18-month-olds to age 5

Tiny Tots! continues this winter on Friday mornings at Bluffton Family Recreation.

Sessions are from 10 to 10:30 a.m. now through the end of February. The sessions are open to youth 18 months through 5.

Activites includes games with coordination, balance, social skills and lots of fun. Kids should  bring their moms or dads to participate with them.

New activities take place in each session. For details call BFR, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton, 419-358-4150.

Bluffton Family Recreation has open gym times for youth and families, according to Joseph Beagle, director.

Youth open gym times are:
Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m.
Family open gym times are:
Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.
Saturdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Sundays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bluffton University junior Chelsea Zoltowski will present a speech titled “Sticky Geckos: My Research Experience Studying Gecko Adhesion” at 11 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the Reading Room of Musselman Library.

Zoltowski, a chemistry major, will describe her participation in the Research Experience for Undergraduates program at the University of Akron’s College of Polymer Science. She is a resident of Sylvania, Ohio.

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Bluffton University women’s basketball team hit the road to do battle with Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Despite nearly three quarters of shooting struggles, the visitors were able to pull out a 56-45 win. The victory pushes the Beavers to 15-3 overall with a 9-2 mark in the HCAC. The loss dropped Mount St. Joseph to 1-17 (0-11 HCAC) on the season.
