The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal on Wednesday, Jan.25,  from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St.,

The meal this month is provided by The 7 O’clock Flock. The menu is grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, relishes, dessert and beverage.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's basketball team scored the first 10 points and never looked back in a 68-46 rout of Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017. Bluffton improved to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the Heartland Conference, while MSJ fell to 1-11 and 0-5 in the HCAC.

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's basketball team traveled south down I-75 for a Heartland Conference matchup with Mount St. Joseph on a cold and windy Wednesday, Jan. 4. Bluffton and MSJ traded the lead 11 times in the first 11 minutes before the home team went on a 10-0 run and never looked back. Mount St. Joseph opened a 45-30 spread at the break en route to the convincing 79-49 victory in the first game of 2017.

When we think of Lee Cookson, who died on Dec. 31, (click here for his obituary) the first story that comes to mind is pretty funny and can never be repeated – ever.

Was a 1965 BHS graduate and senior class president

Richard Lee Cookson, 69, of Katy, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016.

Lee was born in Bluffton, Ohio, on April 16, 1947. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Bluffton High School in 1965, where he was senior class president and a defensive back on the Pirates football team.

Lee graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a degree in history, and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.
