BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton senior Thayne Recker (Arlington) helped the Beavers go 2-1 to open the season and he has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week. He picked up where he left off last season when Recker was a three-time HCAC Player of the Week en route to being named First Team All-Heartland Conference.

Many Bluffton High School athletes excel on the sports field and in the classroom.

Jim Raabe, Northwest Conference commissioner, has released the list of NWC scholar athletes for the fall season.

Scholar athletes are determined as follows:

•  Must be a letter winner in their sport.
•  Gold level -- GPA of 3.5 or higher during the season of their sport.
•  Silver level -- GPA of 3.0 to 3.49 during the season of their sport.

Bluffton's list is below. In addition, an entire NWC list in attached.

Tiny tots with their eye all aglow will find it hard to sleep tonight.

The Icon recently visited Town and Country and took our video camera long.

Here’s what we recorded (watch the video below – better still – visit the floral shop to see it for yourself.
