Samantha Fruchey, Bluffton senior, will participate in the District 8 All-Star volleyball match held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Bluffton University’s Sommer Center.

Fruchey is on the Division I-II-III East team. Coaching the East team is Cristy Gray, Liberty Benton and Mike Etzler, Coldwater.

In addition, Andie Schmutz of Bluffton was named to the Division I-II-III all-district second team.

Gardeners of the Bluffton Pandora Area will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the lower level of the Bluffton Public Library.

The Bluffton High School Drama Club presents "The Sinister Senior Sabotage" as its fall play.

Performances are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14 in the middle school cafetorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain is at 7:30 p.m.

General admission tickets are available at the door. Adults $4 and students $2.

Here's the story line:

Applications are now being accepted for the Bradley Joseph Memorial Scholarship for Medical Missions. This scholarship will assist northwest Ohio pharmacy and nursing students who wish to participate in medical mission trips.

Applicants must be pursuing a career in the medical field in Ohio or Michigan. Priority will be given to pharmacy or nursing students at Ohio Northern University and the University of Findlay. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required.

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team held Mount St. Joseph at bay for over 60 minutes, but a Lions' goal midway through period two proved to be the difference in a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015. Bluffton dipped to 7-10 overall and 3-5 in the Heartland Conference. MSJ clinched a berth in the conference tournament while improving to 10-5-2 and 5-2-1 in the HCAC.

Bluffton High School boys' soccer team defeated Lima Central Catholic 4-0 on Oct. 27 in district action at Kalida.

This is the third consecutive postseason shutout for the Pirates as they move into the district final with a 4-0 victory over LCC.
