Mosquito spraying in Bluffton takes place on Wednesday evenings from 9 p.m. to approximately 1 a.m.
Spraying takes place unless it is raining or is extremely windy. If either of those conditions are present, spraying is moved to Thursday evening of that week.
Bluffton Community Swimming Pool will hold a summer pool party in cooperation with 93.9 Kiss FM on Friday, July 24.
Kiss FM will broadcast live from noon to 2 p.m. during the party. There will be promotional giveaways starting at noon. The pool will be open to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 24. Regular admission prices.
Twenty days into July and the Pandora-Bluffton area has already experienced 6.64 inches of rain. All the that rain fell in a 13-day period from July 7 to July 19.
During that stretch Bluffton was without rain on only three days.
The heaviest rainfall was 2.92 inches on July 9.

Bluffton’s fireworks, postponed in late June due to the weather, is rescheduled for 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Bluffton’s National Night Out celebration at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool.
The fireworks will cap off the National Night Out. The display should last between 20 and 30 minutes.
The National Night Out and fireworks will take place on Snider Road, Bluffton. Watch for a map indicating locations where people can watch the display.
Mayor Judy Augsburger announced appointment of a commission to oversee the Shannon Cemetery during Monday’s Bluffton council meeting.
Members include: John Murray, Evan Skilliter, Fred Rodabaugh, Bob Amstutz, Nathan Ulrey, Samuel Diller, Richard Boehr, Harriett Moyer, Jesse Blackburn, David Steiner and the mayor. Paula Scott, a non-voting member, is the commission recorder.
