You've heard them perform at Tu Puebeo. They are the Columbus-based Mariachi Guadalajara Band and they are returning to Bluffton on Saturday, May 16, to perform. Their performance will be outdoors, in front of Tu Pueblo Resturant during the arts and crafts festival. They will perform in the late morning into the early afternoon.

As the 2014-15 school years winds down, Bluffton Elementary PTO offers this summary of its spring activities, according to Melissa Knauss, president:

"With only a few weeks left of this school year, the PTO committee wants to thank everyone who made this year such a success for us, allowing the committee to do so many things for our school, it's teachers, and students. Whether you volunteered your time or donated items, we appreciate each and every one of you.

Bicycle enthusiasts may register for the inaugural Ride to Remember bicycle ride scheduled Saturday, July 11, in Bluffton. 

The event offers short bike routes for families interested in biking together all the way to a 100-mile route for experienced riders starting and ending at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

Bicycle enthusiasts may register for the inaugural Ride to Remember bicycle ride held Saturday, July 11, in Bluffton. 

The event offers short bike routes for families interested in biking together all the way to a 100-mile route for experienced riders starting and ending at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

Richard Ramseyer, president of the Bluffton Lions Foundation, sponsor of the ride, said, “This serves as a springboard to a make Bluffton a bicycle destination and bike center for enthusiasts of the sport.”

A graveside service for former pastor of First United Methodist Church, Bluffton, Rev. James B. Heininger, 90, of Granville, were held May 1, 2015 at Maplewood Cemetery in Spencerville with full military honors.

McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville, handled the arrangements.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Rev. Heininger was May  at Centenary United Methodist Church, Granville with Rev. Stephen J. Cramer as celebrant. 

Bluffton University has an openign for a head softball coach.

On Friday, May 8,, head softball coach Heather Bruder announced her resignation at the end of the 2014-15 academic year. This coaching change comes against an unfortunate backdrop of a public event that occurred during the May 1 HCAC tournament, as reported by the HCAC commissioner:
