The annual shareholders meeting of Citizens Bancshares, Inc. takes place Tuesday, Jan. 27,  at 7 p.m. at Citizens National Bank 102 S. Main Street, Bluffton.

 

 

The Dough Hook, 117 N. Main St., Bluffton, invites area organizations and groups to consider a unique Bluffton fundraiser, according to Marlena Ballinger of the Main Street business.

"We invite groups to consider selling The Dough Hook's raw cookie dough as a fundraiser during 2015," she said.

The cookie dough is available in two-pound containers and  various cookie flavors making it an easy-to-sell-item, she added. In addition, the cookie dough is a Bluffton-made product, which means fund raising assists local business and local organizations.

Bluffton Exempted Village Schools will have a two-hour delay on Thursday, Jan. 29.  Teachers and administrators will work on the implementation of the new “Common Core Standards” with “Formative Instructional Practices.”

Teachers and administrators will be receiving over 25 hours of training this school year to prepare for this state adopted curriculum.

The Bluffton fifth grade quiz bowl season begins this month. The first match is Monday, Jan. 26, at Shawnee Middle School

Bluffton team members are: Justin Bishop, Amber Boop, Nicole Boyle, Jonah Brown, Libbie Frazier, Nathan Kupferer, Caleb McKenzie, Seth Pannabecker, Kiera Rieman, and Jayden Welch. The coach is Christine McCafferty.
