The Lima Beane Chorus will perform at this year's Blaze of Lights. They are one of three groups to perform following the parade and prior to getting the Ream Holiday Folk Art display lights turned on. Entertainment is from 6 to 7 p.m. The first performers are the Bluffton High School show choir. Next will be performers from Dancers Elite Studio. The Lima Beane Chorus will follow Dancers Elite. The Blaze of Lights is Saturday, Nov. 29.

You'd better watch out.

Santa Claus is coming to town, thanks to the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

He'll be here four Saturdays in a row, so your chances to talk with him are excellent. (Mrs. Claus comes with him on Saturday, Nov. 29).

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, in First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St.

After years of seeking a concise way to describe what he sees as the essence of an effective strategy, Dr. George Lehman hopes he has found it.

Lehman, chair of business studies and director of graduate programs in business at Bluffton University, told a campus colloquium audience on Nov. 14 that he thinks “strategic opportunism” is an apt new name for a new understanding of strategy.

David L. Boisvert, 71,  passed away November 18 at 5:38 a.m. at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.  David was born July 9, 1943 in Sherman, TX, to the late Lionel and Chrystal (Lind) Boisvert. On May 30, 1965 he married Carolyn Boggs Boisvert who survives.
