GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Coach Nussbaum's second trip to Grand Rapids, Mich., in nine days produced another victory for the Beavers, this time a dominating 4-1 win over Kuyper College by the Bluffton University men's soccer team. The women pulled out a 1-0 shutout of Grace Bible College just over a week ago on September 24. Bluffton moved to 3-7 on the season with its second victory in three contests.

There were lots of pumpkins at the Bluffton Fall Festival on Saturday. Pumpkins at Bluffton Hospital were decorated by youngsters, sometimes with assistance of parents. More Fall Festival photos are inside.

Bluffton University has new events in store at the beginning, middle and end of its Homecoming celebration on Saturday, Oct. 4.

“New Beginnings” is the theme for Homecoming, which will kick off Saturday with the launch of a new book at The Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center. From 9-10:30 a.m., visitors may stop by the center for a reception with Lisa Weaver and 2013 Bluffton alumna Amanda Huston, the author and illustrator, respectively, of “Swords to Plowshares,” a children’s book published by the center. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

Or, did you ride a horse-pulled wagon, view a quilt show, attend a small business expo, ride a kid's train, bid on a silent auction item?

Did you pet a farm animal, watch horses plow a field, play a old-fashion kid's game, eat ham off the fire, or did you attend an antique tractors show?
