The chamber has scheduled Santa several times in November and December. Here’s where and when:

Saturday, Nov. 23 – Santa arrives in the old Bluffton fire truck at 10 a.m. and will be in Common Grounds, 101 S. Main St., from 10 a.m. to noon.

Between the temperatures and the autumnal light, October is turning out nicely. According to statistics collected by Pandora weather observer Guy Verhoff, for the first 18 days of October high temperatures were 65 degrees (F) or warmer.  Twice during that time the high temp was 79 degrees. It's only been in the last few days that we are shifting away from that.

Fall days have fall nights and those temperature are staying lower.   In fact, October night time lows have been in the 40's for 14 of 21 days.

Here’s a rainy day story with a happy ending.

Following the Bluffton-Allen East football game on Oct. 4 – played mostly in a downpour – Allen East lost more than just the game.

Jordan Reffitt, one of the Mustang’s assistant coaches, lost his wedding ring during the game.

Fortunately, he is related to Donna Morrison, whose husband, Denny, just happens to have a master’s degree in metal detecting.

Denny spend much of Saturday with the detector, as he combed the visitor’s sidelines where he said that he found several coins, but no ring.
