Adaline "Dolly" Deeds, 74, of Beaverdam died at 8:20 p.m. at her residence.

She was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Washington Township, Michigan, to Clarence and Theresa Diveto Cain. On Jan. 1, 1996 she married Donald Deeds and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2009.

Adaline was a homemaker. She was a member of the Moose and Eagles in Lima.

There are historic Bluffton photographs and then there a historic gems. This is a gem. Bluffton from the air in the early 1950s. There are several structures to point out. We will allow Icon viewes to comment on those.

The Cottonwood Jam String Band, consisting of Marty Clayton, Cole Christiansen, Spencer Cunningham and Renata Burg will perform on the Bluffton Cultural Affairs Committee's town hall concert series at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 20.

The band plays a blend of traditional Old Time Appalachian, Folk, and Dance music for concerts, parties, contra/square dances, weddings, and just about anything else.

The Apollo Career Center Board of Education voted on May 14 to accept $22 million in Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) funds to repair, remodel and upgrade current technology, infrastructure and academic classroom space.

That decision begins the process of determining the scope of the project, and millage to place on the Bluffton Exempted School District's November ballot. Bluffton is part of the Apollo district.

Rhonda Wolpert, administrator of Mennonite Memorial Home, tells about the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Green Houses. On May 17, MHCO gave a "get the scoop" tour to volunteers and donors of the project, underway on Augsburger Road. It was the first tour of the Green Houses, which will be completed at the end of the summer.

Bluffton Public Library has an exciting series of relaxing programs planned for June. The "Relax, Recharge, Rejuvenate" program series will feature three opportunities to escape the daily routine, enjoy an evening out and learn about ways to relax.
