Sally Siferd presents plaque to Robert Neff

Robert Neff of R.D. Neff and Associates, was honored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce for his five years of service on the chamber board. Sally Siferd, chamber president, presented Neff with a plaque for his years of service.

The recognition took place at the March 9 chamber breakfast in the town hall. Neff has served on the chamber board since 2007.

Jeremy Basinger

Jeremy Basinger, a Bluffton High School senior, is the February student of the month at BHS.

He carries 3.063 grade point average and participates in show choir, Beaverdam Bunch 4-H, and the St. John Mennonite Church leadership team. He has particpated in football and baseball at Bluffton High School. This past year he was named to the Northwest Conference second team as middle linebacker.

His plans beyond high school are undecided. He is the son of Jon and Janice Basinger, 4080 East Hook-Waltz Road, Elida.

The Bluffton school board accepted the resignation of Karen Luginbuhl, Bluffton kindergarten teacher, effective May 31. The action took place at the March 19 board meeting. Mrs. Luginbuhl has taught in the Bluffton school system for several years.

In other significant board action the board voted to have R.D. Neff & Associates, Bluffton, advertise for bids for the installing of a concession stand and restrooms at Steinmetz Field. Bids will be opened at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, by the school treasurer in Neff's office.

Young artist

Nicholas Jebsen, Bluffton third grader, created this art piece on exhibit at the Bluffton Public Library. March is student art month. The library is display many art creations from Bluffton and Cory-Rawson artists. Click for more art.
