Bluffton University President James M. Harder has named Ron Headings of Cincinnati, Ohio, as the university's vice president for enrollment management. Headings will move to Bluffton and assume his new responsibilities in mid-summer.
"Ron's extensive experience in strategic marketing and demonstrated commitment to Mennonite higher education prepare him well for this new role," Harder said. "Bluffton will benefit from the focus and expertise that Ron will bring to his new position."
Six Bluffton Middle School students were named students of the month for December.
6th Grade
Lani Bischoff, daughter of Joseph and Melissa Bischoff is a member of the BMS choir. She plays basketball, soccer and is in dance. Lani attends the Ebenezer church.
Aaron Belcher is the son of Tracy and Jodi Belcher. He participates in basketball, football and baseball.
7th Grade
Sarah Siders is the daughter of Aaron and Joy Siders. She is a member of the BMS strings program. Sarah is also a member of 4-H and shows horses.
Carlin Carpenter entertains Bluffton senior citizens during the noon, Monday, Feb. 13, monthly potluck at the Senior Center.
Ruth Unrau will receive a life membership at the meeting, as a result of celebrating her 90th birthday. The dinner is a potluck and persons attending may bring a dish to share and your own table setting.
BFR will host a Longest Loser Competition this winter, according to Carole Enneking of BFR.
"The object of the competition is to lose weight slowly for the longest amount of time. Each person will weigh in weekly on the same day and you must lose 0.2 of a pound to stay in the competition," she said.
