ArtSpace/Lima announces its Soup and Salad Winter 2012 Lecture Series. This year's topic is The Art in Your Life, a practical guide to buying, framing, hanging, talking about, and living with art on a daily basis.

Jan. 28 - Lecture #1, "Buying Art' will be given by Laura Corle, Findlay art teacher and practicing artist, specializing in photo-realistic watercolors.

Corle has shown her work in multiple galleries in Ohio, including the Findlay Art League and ArtSpace/Lima (in the St. Rita's Mezzanine Gallery and in Spring Show).

In preparation for the film release in March, Bluffton Public Library will be hosting several programs based on the popular "Hunger Games" trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

First is a discussion of the first book, "The Hunger Games," to be held on Monday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. Any fan of the books is encouraged to attend but a few copies will be available for teens to check out at the library.

The Inn at Ohio Northern University offers Third Thursday Tea at the Inn every Third Thursday of the month from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Inn.

The next tea is Thursday, Jan. 19. A brief presentation will be given by Curves in Ada (including a gift for each guest), along with musical entertainment. Featured teas with finger foods, scones, pastries and dessert. Champagne is also available.

Thursday Tea at the Inn will feature a specific tea and dessert, but will include a variety and teas and pastries. Advance reservations are required.

The Allen County Environmental Citizens Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 3 p.m. in the Health Department Conference Room. Special reports for the meeting will include an update on Lima sewer issues from Gary Sheely, and a review of Flare Gas Recovery Projects by Husky Energy staff.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St. Pandora.

The menu will be: Tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwich, relish tray, dessert and coffee/punch.

Donald E. Osborne

Donald E. Osborne, 77, of Columbus Grove died at 4 a.m. Jan. 14, 2012 at his residence. He was born Nov. 12, 1934 in Venedocia to Francis and Mabel Miller Osborne. On Oct. 20, 1962 he married Lou Ann Palte and she survives.

Donald retired from Phillips Corp., Ottawa. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton and was an Army Veteran.

Survivors also include three children, Amy (Paul) Shoppell of Van Wert, Donald C. Osborne of Beaverdam, Anne Osborne of Beaverdam, a grandson, Joseph Shoppell and a granddaughter, Marcy Shoppell.
