The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting 16 people lost their lives in 16 traffic crashes during the 4th of July reporting period, Friday, July 1-Monday, July 4.
Troopers made 444 arrests for impaired driving and 239 for drug-related charges. The Patrol responded to 559 crashes and made more than 33,000 traffic contacts in total. Troopers also provided assistance to more than 2,588 motorists.
John Edward Murray, 85, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton, Ohio.
John was born August 21, 1936 in Bluffton to the late Clayton and Ruby (Beery) Murray. On March 16, 1968 he married Barbara Ann (Leffler) Murray who preceded him in death on March 1, 2003.
The Bluffton Public Library asks, "Bernie wanted a new hairdo. Bernie's hair could be blue. Do you know where?" Summer reading program participants have been invited to identify photo locations to earn extra prize drawing tickets.
