Fall youth programming underway at library
The Youth Services Department at Bluffton Public Library is offering some exciting programs this fall, according to Rikki Steingass of the library.
ATLAS
The ATLAS program for grades 1-5 continues every first and third Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. Fall themes include Apples vs. Pumpkins, Don't Be a Turkey!, The Narwhal & Other Strange Creatures and Musical Cacophony.
Book discussion
On Thursday, Oct. 22, the Teen Advisory Board will host a book discussion of The Wish List by Eoin Colfer in celebration of Teen Read Week (Oct. 18-24). The book club will meet at 3:30 p.m. to talk about the book and share snacks. Copies of the book are available for check-out at the front desk. Other books on the Teen Read Week theme, Read Beyond Reality, are on display and ready for check-out.
The Thriller Challenge
Finally, the library invites children and teens to take The Thriller Challenge at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27. Participants will be challenged to complete as many 'chilling' tasks as possible including the 'Killer' Buffet, Scary Cemetery, 'Creepy Crawly' Touch, Costume Contest, and the Thriller Dance. Register for this program at the front desk or by phone, 419-358-5016. Children 6 and under should be accompanied by an adult.
