Christian and Peter Schumacher families subject of Sunday Swiss program
Is there a Schumacher in your family tree? If so, here's an opportunity to obtain some family history.
On Sunday, an illustrated presentation is planned by the Swiss Community Historical Society's Intrepretation Committee about the Christian and Peter Schumacher family histories and their life at the Swiss homestead on Bixel Road.
The presentation is at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 25, in the Patio Room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Augsburger Road.
In addition, recent acquisitions by the society will be displayed. Two reprinted books will be avialable. They are:
o P.B. Amstutz, "Historical Events of the Mennonite Settlement in Allen and Putnam Counties, Ohio." ($20)
o Edgar Schumacher, "Life in the Bluffton and Pandora, Ohio, Community, 1877-1910: Excerpts from The Bluffton News." ($25)
