Farmer's market returns to Bluffton Saturday morning
It's here.
Saturday, May 5, means Bluffton's Farmers' Market returns to Main Street for 2012.
Peter Previte, Bluffton farmers' market coordinator, told The Icon that hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon. The market continues each Saturday - rain or shine - through the final Saturday of October, which is Oct. 27.
Located in Citizens National Bank parking lot between the bank and the Bluffton Post Office, the family-friendly market showcases farm fresh produce, delicious prepared foods, local entertainment, local community causes and information about the Bluffton community.
"It's a weekly community event where local residents and visitors to Bluffton gather, not only to buy excellent produce, but also to enjoy delicious food, listen to entertainment and relax with friends," said Previte, in describing the market.
He adds that this season promises a crop of new vendors, new programs, including workshops, and eating healthy educational demonstrations, guest chefs, children's activities and much more.
Support for Bluffton's market from the local community has been strong over the years. Previte invites Icon viewers to opening day, which, he says will be packed full of 'fresh' activities and fresh farm-to-market fare.
