Aphaphanh Nussbaum named chair of 2010 chamber of commerce
Aphaphanh Nussbaum of Ten Thousand Villages is the new Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce chair for 2010. Brendon Matthews held the position in 2009. He continues on the board. The chamber board reorganized on Jan. 29.
Other new officers include Julia Szabo, secretary, Judy Augsburger (continuing as treasurer), Robert Neff (continuing as economic development chair), Jamie Mehaffie (continuing as investor benefits chair), and Mandy Kinn, pro-active business voice chair. Other board members are Luke Young and Matt Luke.
Bob Amstutz leaves the board after servicing two terms. Fred Steiner continues as the chamber CEO.
Plans for the February, March and April breakfast meetings were announced.
February: 7:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 12, third floor town hall, Bluffton University will introduce Mediation Works! a public awareness and education project. Rory Stauber is the speaker. Bluffton University is the breakfast sponsor. Persons interested in attending may RSVP by Feb. 10 to [email protected].
March: 7:30 a.m., Friday, March 12, third floor town hall, Jerry Suter of Suter Produce is the speaker.
April: 7:30 a.m., Friday, April 9, third floor town hall, chamber members will provide their views on the direction that the chamber should take over the next three years.
The board is currently reviewing some changes in chair titles and responsiblities. Those changes will be presented to the chamber members for discussion at the April meeting.
