Finally...those village water replacement projects ready to begin
Several village water replacements will begin soon. Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, will update Bluffton council on the projects during Monday's council meeting.
"The Grove, Lawn, Jackson street project will begin on Aug. 13 with a substantial completion day by Oct. 31," Mehaffie told The Icon.
The Cherry and Mound Streets project is set to begin Oct. 1 and be completed by Dec. 1.
The projects are funded by a one-quarter percent income tax levy that passed earlier this year. Completion of the projects will resolve the dirty water problem plaguing certain neighborhoods in the village, despite the village now receiving water from Ottawa.
