Four Bluffton Eagle Scouts projects presently underway: Nature Preserve, TLU and Schumacher Homestead
Bluffton Boy Scout Troop 256 currently has four Eagle Scout projects in progress in the Bluffton area. For a scout to achieve the rank of Eagle, he must lead a project sponsored by an organization that will make an improvement for the betterment of the community.
The Eagle Scout project is the culmination of a Scout's training to demonstrate his leadership capabilities and must be completed prior to the Scout's 18th birthday.
Justin Paul
Bluffton High School Senior Justin Paul has recently completed work on his project to build steps on the north side of the swinging bridge at the Bluffton University Nature Preserve. Justin's project is sponsored by Bluffton University.
Carrick Lancaster
Bluffton High School Freshman Carrick Lancaster has begun work to renovate the building and landscaping for a local animal rescue shelter. Carrick's project is sponsored by To Luv Unconditionally (TLU) Rescue Shelter.
Roger Zeits
Bluffton High School Sophomore Roger Zeits will soon begin his project to build a wheelchair accessible ramp at the Schumacher Homestead Swiss House on Bixel Road. Roger's project is sponsored by the Swiss Historical Society.
Jonatan Moser
Bluffton High School Junior Jonatan Moser is in the planning stages to clear a fishing area along the creek at the Schumacher Homestead Swiss House on Bixel Road. Jonatan's project is sponsored by the Swiss Historical Society.
Each of these projects takes considerable planning and organization to execute effectively.
"If you see any of these Scouts, please offer your encouragement to support the completion of their projects," said Brice Metzger, Historian for Troop 256.
