George L. Brenneman was a former Rawson mayor
George L. Brenneman, 81, of Rawson, died at 3:12 p.m. Aug. 28, 2012 at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born June 25, 1931, in Shreve to Clifford and Grace Stair Brenneman.
On July 29, 1951, he married Christina "Jylene" Boston and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2006.
Mr. Brenneman retired from Mid-West Laser, Findlay, and also owned Brenneman Enterprises/Husqvarna Dealership in Rawson. He was a past mayor of Rawson and was a member of the Rawson Fire Department for 40 years, where he had been assistant chief.
He was a member of the Ohio Bee Keepers Association, the Northwest Ohio Antique Machinery Association and Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation. He was a graduate of Wooster High School and attended Findlay College.
Survivors include three sons, Keith (Karen) Brenneman of Van Buren, Roger (Arlene) Brenneman of Wooster, Mark (Debbie) Brenneman of Rawson, two daughters, Susie (Roger) Rader of Mt. Cory, Anita (Rick) Garrison of Bellville, a son-in-law, William Sharp of Delaware, 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A daughter, Sharon Sharp, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. John Willbur and Carlton Schooley will officiate. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery, Mt. Cory.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Rawson Fire Dept. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
