Peter Carlson named HCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Bluffton University sophomore Peter Carlson (Toledo/Springfield) has been named the HCAC men's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 9, 2012. It marked Bluffton's first men's soccer Player of the Week since 2008 when Nate Flath took home the honor.
Carlson led the Beavers to their first win of the season at Shawnee State on Saturday afternoon. His assist with under eight minutes to play knotted the match at one and he followed that up with the game-winner with just seven seconds to play in regulation. It was his first goal of the season and just the second of his career.
Bluffton returns to the pitch when the Beavers travel to St. Francis on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The match in Fort Wayne, Ind., is slated for 7:30 p.m.
