15 minutes with Preston Huddleston, Bluffton University student

Interview by Derek Woods, Bluffton University student and Icon intern. Derek is a Broadcasting and Journalism Major from Springfield, Ohio, and is starting safety for the Bluffton University football team.

Preston, where are you from, where did you go to high scool and what position do you play for the Beavers?
I'm a senior, defensive end, from Benton Harbor, Michigan – Eau Claire High School.

What's your major at Bluffton University?
Criminal Justice.

Where did you work this past summer?
I worked for the university for Building and Grounds with the heavy cleaning/floor crew.

When did you start playing football?
I started playing football in the third grade.

Did anyone ever knock you out in football?
Never.

So, what mascots have you played for?
Tigers and Beavers.

Tell me about your best game ever.
My best game ever was in high school winning the conference title. It was the best feeling in the world.

How many Bluffton University football letters do you have?
I'm a four time letter winner.

How many seasons have you started for Bluffton?
I've had 1 ½ years as a starter.

What's your usual practice routinee?
I practice every day and lifting twice a week during the seasons. Off season it’s like a part time job. We spend a lot of time trying to get better during the off season. we lift four times a week.

What made you decided to come to Bluffton?
Head Coach Tyson Veidt played a huge role in my decision to come to Bluffton, and the people seemed very nice on my visit.

What's your classroom routinee?
Get my homework done before anything else and the rest will play itself out.

Where do you hope to be in 10 years?
Working as a United States Marshal and have a happy family.

What's your favorite football number?
Number 74 is my favorite number for football.
