Film based on Bluffton writer's short story will be shown on Shannon Theatre screen Sept. 29
Icon viewers have a rare opportunity to view a short film at the Shannon Theatre based on a short story by Tobias Buckell, Bluffton writer.
The film “All Her Children Fought,” will be shown at no charge at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Shannon Theatre. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. Buckell will be present to sign and sell books, introduce the film and conduct a brief question and answer session following the showing of the movie.
The film was selected to be produced as a short independent film in Ireland. It is based on one of Buckell’s short stories.
According to Buckell: “All Her Children Fought went into production in Rathdrum, Wicklow, over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Directed by Patrick Ryan, the 15-minute drama explores the corruption and resilience of natural instincts in a future state of war.”
‘The story has great resonance’ said Snugboro Films producer Liam Grant, ‘it deals with the forgotten details – how children grow up and how mothers cope rather than the spectacle of war on TV.’
