Men's soccer: Beavers shutout 4-0

The Bluffton University men’s soccer team fell to Moody Bible Institute, 4-0, on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012. Bluffton dipped to 2-5 on the season as Moody Bible improved to 8-1.
The Beavers put up a battle against Moody in the first half, allowing just one goal. Moody Bible’s first tally was scored by Ben Cole at the 21:42 mark.
The visitors made it 2-0 at the 48:12 mark when Ethan Montesinos found the back of the net thanks to an assist from leading-scorer Jacob Persson. Montesinos scored his second goal and Moody Bible’s third 20 minutes later. Just before the horn sounded Richard Supe caqitalized on a feed from Montesinos, making the final score 4-0.
Moody Bible finished with five more shots than Bluffton (13-8) and the visitors forced four more corner kicks (6-2). Both teams were whistled for seven fouls. Nate Byrum (London) led the Beavers with three shots. Freshman keeper Jeff Yoder (Elkhart, Ind./Bethany Christian) collected five saves in the loss.
Bluffton returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 26, when the Beavers host Spalding University. The contest is slated for 4:30 p.m.
