Kenneth Steiner, 95, was a lifetime farmer
Kenneth R. Steiner, 95 of Bluffton died at 8:30 a.m. September 28, 2012, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born Oct. 28, 1916 in Pandora to Clarence and Cora (Rupp) Steiner. On October 27, 1940 he married Lenora G. Schroll and she died September 10, 1999.
Kenneth was a lifetime farmer. He had lived on Tom Fett Road in Bluffton ever since he was married. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Bluffton. He was a lifetime member and past board member of the Bluffton Senior Citizens. He enjoyed traveling the world especially the Smoky Mountains, Alaska, Norway and Finland. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son Ron (Mary) Steiner of Elida; a daughter Marsha (Jim) Given of Powell; a grandson Brian Steiner; two granddaughters Christie (Jim) Lewis and Michelle Given; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers Donald, Evan and Harold Steiner.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. Carol Clements officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, Bluffton or Mennonite Memorial Home.
