Senior Heather Schierer earns HCAC Player of the Week honors
Bluffton University senior Heather Schierer (Crescent Springs, Ky./St. Henry) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for offense. It marked just her second week as a hitter after starting at libero for much of the season.
The standout right side pounded 37 kills (3.7 kills per set) and finished the week with a .369 hitting percentage. Schierer knocked down a career-high 20 kills in a four-set win at Anderson and followed that performance with 10 kills and a .625 hitting percentage in the win over Goshen.
The senior also chipped in with 25 digs, four aces, and two blocks during the week.
The Beavers (11-9, 2-1 HCAC) host #23 Heidelberg University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night in their only match of the week.
