Dr. Bill Thomas presents
folk music concert, storytelling event
Dr. Bill Thomas, founder of The Green House Project, will present a folk concert, story-telling and book-signing program at Maple Crest Senior Living Village, 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton, at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14.
The program is part of the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) daylong dedication of its Willow Ridge campus, the first two Green House homes in Ohio. The Willow Ridge dedication is at 1 p.m.
Dr. Thomas, M.D., of Ithaca, N.Y., is a storyteller, advocate for older adults and author of several books on aging. He is an advocate for holistic approaches to aging and to the care of elders. He is also an accomplished folk musician.
In addition to founding The Green House Project, he is author of several books. Titles include “What are Old People For?: How Elders Will Save the World,” and “In the Arms of Elders: A Parable of Wise Leadership and Community Building.”
During the program he will be available to sign copies of his most recent book, “Tribes of Eden,” a novel.
The program is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken to assist in Dr. Thomas’ travel expenses.
