Two Bluffton residents, Mary Em Triplett and Mary Koontz, will receive life time memberships this month from the Bluffton Senior Citizens Assocation, upon reaching their 90th birthdays.

They will be recognized at the 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 8, monthly dinner meeting at the Center. The meal is catered by the Mt. Cory United Methodist Church. Serving will be orange pork chop loins, scalloped potatoes, mixed vegetables, buttered rolls and homemade pie. 

Bob Painter is the program's master of ceremonies. Richard Bucher will provide music as the program.

Several other events take place in October at the Center.

Bette's Polka Band performs for a public dance from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11. Hilty Memorial Home sponsors the event, which is free and open to the public. A meal of sloppy Jo sandwiches, hot dogs, chili dogs, sides and desserts are available at 4:30 p.m. for $4 each. 

This year's Medicare annual open enrollment period is Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. Persons with questions may contact Bob Painter, a certified OSHIIP counselor. Persons may call for an appointment on Tuesdays or Thursdays, 419-358-8971.

Western Square Dancing takes place at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22 The cost is $2 for members and $3 for non-members.

Dominoes takes place Fridays, Oct. 5 and Oct. 19. Games start at 9:30 a.m.

The October toenail clinic is 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 22. Appointments are reqiired and there is a $10 charge.

Ask the Expert takes place from 10:30 -11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, sponsored by Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio. A fall risk screening, offered by Northwest Physical Therapy is the program.

Linda Plitz, from PSA 3, will present "Memory and Aging, What's Normal and What's Not," at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, at the Center. The program is free and open to the public.

Community meals are Thursdays, Oct. 4, and Oct. 18. English Lutheran Church is host to the 18th; First United Methodist Church hosted the meal on the 4th. Meals are at 6 p.m. at the Center.
