Just in time for some new resolutions - BFR offers Fit 4 Life in early January
BFR will offer another 12-week session of the Fit 4 Life program beginning the week of Jan. 7. The Fit 4 Life fitness program will assist individuals in meeting individual weight loss and exercise goals.
Over 100 individuals have taken advantage of the Fit 4 Life program so far. Feedback has been very positive including reported improvements in cholesterol and blood pressure levels, energy and endurance, plus pounds and inches lost. Fit 4 Life participants report feeling more comfortable in the exercise environment and more confident in their exercise abilities.
The Fit 4 Life fitness program is led by Jessica Ladd, BFR's certified personal trainer. Ladd, a graduate of the Strength and Conditioning program at University of Findlay and certified through ASFA, has experience in designing workouts to be done at home or at BFR.
According to Ladd, " Fit 4 Life is a safe way to begin an exercise program. It combines scheduled workouts, personal training, and motivation from exercise buddies. Any one can benefit from the program."
Fit 4 Life will include both individual and group meetings designed to motivate and support each participant. Individualized, progressive workout programs under the direction of a certified personal trainer are included.
Small group educational and exercise demonstration sessions are scheduled weekly, as well. Weight and Body mass measurements will be recorded at the beginning and end of the 12 weeks.
The Fit 4 Life Fitness Program includes three-month membership to the fitness facility at Bluffton Family Recreation. The BFR facility offers treadmills, bikes, and elliptical trainers for a cardio-vascular workout, free weights and weight machines for strength training and toning, plus a mat area for floor and stability ball exercises.
In addition to the Fitness Center, the BFR offers an indoor walking/running track, turf arena and gymnasium. BFR also offers fitness classes for all ages and abilities.
The cost for the Smart Start program is $100, BFR members pay only $40. United Way Scholarships are available to assist with the Smart Start program fees. Space in the program is limited to 25 per group. For more information, contact BFR at 419-358-4150 or by email to [email protected].
