Christmas eve church services in Bluffton
Several Bluffton congregation hold Christmas eve services. Here are the services provided to The Icon.
Bluffton Presbyterian
Prelude in brass at 6:30 p.m.
Christmas eve service at 7 p.m.
Fellowship at 8 p.m.
Service of communion, 8:30 p.m.
English Lutheran
English Lutheran offers two Christmas Eve worship experiences. First, at 7 p.m., join us for our Family Candlelight Service with Holy Communion that features an interactive re-telling of the Christmas story from Luke, chapter 2. This informal service is especially appropriate for families with children.
Then, at 11 p.m, we offer our Festival Christmas Eve Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols, also with Holy Communion. This worship experience features special music by Scott Edwards, organist, the English Lutheran Choir, under the direction of David Runk, and congregational carols interspersed with readings related to the birth of Christ from both the Old and New Testaments. This service also concludes with the candlelight singing of Silent Night.
First Mennonite
Candlelight Service, 6:30 p.m., Sanctuary.
First United Methodist
Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 7 p.m. Pre-service music begins at 6:30 p.m.
Trinity Lutheran, Jenera
Pre-service music on Christmas Eve will begin at 6:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m., "Gifts from the Manger" will be presented by the students of Pre-school through Eighth Grade. The service tells of the birth of Christ through Word and Christmas hymns.
The Christmas Day celebration service will begin at 9:30 a.m. The Choir will sing “And the Glory of the Lord” from Handel’s Messiah.
