Vera Higgins, 1918 - 2013
Vera A. Higgins, 94 died at 7:05 am January 27, 2013 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born November 19, 1918 in Ada to the late James A. and Freda (Frankhauser) Hauenstein.
On August 9, 1940 she married Herbert Higgins and he died July 8, 2005. Vera was a homemaker and was a member of Central Christian Church, Lima.
Survivors include a son James R. (Roberta) Higgins of Lima; a son in law Daniel Klingler of Ada; a sister Lois Sanderson of Bluffton; five grandchildren Michelle King, Susie Daley, Jane (Jay) Higgins-Walsh, Glen (Martha) Klingler, Donald (Jeni) Higgins; four great grandchildren Cassie King, Samuel Daley, Simon Daley, Lily Walsh; and a great great grandchild Serenity King.
A daughter Margaret Klingler; sister Helen Foltz, half sister Mabel Black; and grandchildren David Higgins and Julie Knowland preceded her in death.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Mark Tisch officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Memorial Home or Central Christian Church.
