Jeanne's Kitchen cream of mushroom soup wins Maple Crest soup cook-off
The cream of mushroom soup from Jeanne's Kitchen was voted the winner of Maple Crest's Feb. 1 soup cook-off.
Soups from seven area restaurants were sampled by over 200 soup lovers during the event. Persons attending voted for their favorite soup.
Luke’s Bar & Grill of Bluffton with baked potato and bacon was voted second place. Logan’s Seafood Chowder from Logan’s Irish Pub of Findlay took third place.
Others who participated were Mustard Seed Café of Bluffton, Waldo Pepper’s of Findlay, J’s Diner of Lima and PamCakes of Columbus Grove.
The dinner included a taste of each soup, salad, breadsticks, dessert and drink. Those attending could receive a discount on their meal price if they donated a canned good for the Bluffton Community Assistance Program. Two grocery carts full of food and household items were collected to assist the food pantry. In addition, over $1,100 was raised for the Memory Garden and Pier Project at Maple Crest.
