Brian Goldsberry to be inducted into Apollo Career Center Hall of Fame on Feb. 7
Brian Goldsberry is one of three persons to be inducted into the Apollo Career Center Hall of Fame on Thursday, Feb. 7.
The induction takes place during the annual all-area board meeting. The program, which starts at 6 p.m., also includes the induction of the 2013 Charles M. Hankish Citizen and Student Citizen of the Year.
This year’s inductees are:
• Goldsberry, a 1984 graduate of Bluffton High School and Apollo's Ag-Diesel program, business owner
• Kimberly Rhodes-Weis, a 1984 graduate of Shawnee High School and Apollo's Cosmetology program, stylist and shop manager
• Paul Crow, a graduate of Perry High School and Apollo's Carpentry program, President/CEO Tuttle Construction, Inc
Bath Township Fire Chief Joseph Kitchen will be honored as the Citizen of the Year, and Student Citizen Corey Paul, Culinary student and Spencerville senior, will be honored for service to Apollo and the community.
February is Career Technical Education Month, and January was School Board Appreciation month. This event celebrates and honors the 11 Boards of Education and three county Boards of Education who serve Apollo's associate districts and are represented on the Apollo board.
Goldsberry has owned his own business, B&G Equipment Service for 10 years. He is also employed by Bluffton School. He credits Apollo with giving him life skills and the confidence to own his own business. Over the years he has continued his education in order to keep up with the growing technology associated with equipment repair.
He said that what you put into your education at Apollo is what you get out of it. Not only will you receive a skill or trade, but you will have something to take with you for life.
Brian and his wife, LeeAnne, are parents of three children, Emily, Ashley, and Gabe.
