Janis S. Gipson, 1947 - 2013
Janis S. Gipson, 65, died at 4:53 p.m. Feb. 5, 2013, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 9, 1947, in Hippo, Ky., to Raleigh and Trilbie Laferty Ousley, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 14, 1984, she married Bryson Gipson Sr., who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Gipson had been a nurse's aide at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Mount Zion Old Regular Baptist Church, McGuffey.
Survivors include three sons, Anthony (Teresa) Collins, Bryson (Crystal) Gipson Jr. and Tryson Gipson, all of Lima; three daughters, Pamela Collins, of Van Wert, Michele Baker, of Dayton, and Crystal Baker, of Lima; a brother, Larry (Nadine) Ousley, of Beaverdam; three sisters, Donna (Arnold) Eldridge, of Warsaw, Kathy (Karl) Austin, of Westerville, and Debbie (Steve) Butcher, of Lima; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger. Pastor Robert L. Shields Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the benevolence of the family in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 41, Alger, OH 45812.
