Marjorie Marquart was a volunteer at the Bluffton Hospital and Ec Cetera Shop
Marjorie J. Marquart, 89 died at 10:45 p.m. February 10, 2013 at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born August 6, 1923 in Bluffton to the late Charles F. and Fairy D. (Diefendeifer) Stratton.
She was married to Frank Houston in June 1943 and he died in World War II in September, 1944. On July 8, 1947 she married Paul Marquart and he died October 13, 1992.
Marjorie was a 1941 graduate of Bluffton High School. She was owner/operator of Margie’s Beauty Shop in Bluffton. She was a member of the Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton, the Poinsettia Club and the Share-A-Talent Club. Marjorie volunteered at Bluffton Hospital and the Et Cetera Shop.
Survivors include a daughter Joy (Richard) Warner of Bluffton; two sons Jay (Elaine) Marquart and Jed (Teresa) Marquart both of Bluffton; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Two sisters Rhoda Augsburger and Marvel Hilty; and three brothers Walter Stratton, Donavin Stratton and Charles Stratton Jr. preceded her in death.
Services will be 10:30 am Thursday at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Rev. Dick Potter officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery, Bluffton.
Friends and family may call Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
