Your chance to tour Bluffton churches in March
Bluffton Area Ministerial Association is sponsoring two tours of churches in the Bluffton community in March. Each church visit will include a presentation by the host church which may include a short tour of the building along with a short history of the building and congregation.
If time permits some facts about the denomination will be included in the presentations. Seven churches are participating in the tours which will take place on Saturday mornings - March 13 and 27.
Saturday, March 13
The tour on March 13 begins at Emmanuel United Church of Christ on Phillips Road at 9 a.m.
The second stop on the tour is Ebenezer Mennonite Church and then concludes at St. Mary's Catholic Church arriving there at 11.
St. Mary's will host a noon lunch for those who would like to stay and fellowship.
Saturday, March 27
On Saturday, March 27, the tour will begin at Bluffton Presbyterian Church at 9 a.m. This tour will be a good walking exercise as the churches are all in close proximity.
English Lutheran, St. John's United Church of Christ and First Mennonite Church will be the order of churches on this route.
First Mennonite Church will also host a noon lunch for those interested in staying for a light meal after the presentation.
This idea originated from First Mennonite Church's Mission, Peace and Service Commission as a way of offering insight into the various churches in the Bluffton community for Bluffton residents. When presented with this idea BAMA was eager to arrange these tours with the hope that it will increase our respect and understanding of the many faith communities in Bluffton.
