William Kenyon Freeman, 1913 - 2010
William Kenyon Freeman, 96, of Pandora, died at 2:35 a.m., March 5, 2010, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. He was born March 7, 1913, in San Ysidro, Calif., to Allen P. and Elizabeth Kenyon Freeman.
On Nov. 23, 1941 he married Mary E. Collier, and she died Sept. 12, 2005.
Mr. Freeman was farmer in Delaware County most of his life until the Alum Creek Watershed Project took their farm at which time they relocated to a farm in Union County (Richwood, Ohio) in 1970.
He was a member of the Pandora United Methodist Church where he was involved in the VOSH program and a former member of the National Farmers Organization. In retirement he enjoyed their stay in Winter Haven, Florida, in the winter months, gardening, and raising roses, apples and oranges. He was a graduate of Orange Twp. High School, Delaware County.
Survivors include two sons, Paul (Janet) Freeman, Columbus Grove and Donald (Nancy) Freeman, Mt. Zion, Ill., a daughter, Ruth Ellen (Lester) Pierce, Wayne.
Other survivors are seven grandchildren, two-step grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, a brother Frank Merrill Freeman, Columbia, Maryland, and a sister-in-law, Wanda Freeman, Butler, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Freeman, and a brother, Bernard Freeman and sister, Annabelle Peterson.
Funeral services are Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at Africa Cemetery, Lewis Center. Pastor Don Freeman, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials may go to Pandora United Methodist Church, Hilty Memorial Home or Gideons International
