Elizabeth Gratzer, 98, was born in Hamburg Germany
Elisabeth Gratzer, 98, died at 2:15 p.m. March 20, 2013 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born June 26, 1914 in Hamburg, Germany, to the late Franz and Elisabeth (Riess) Andres.
She retired as an auditor for a department store in Hamburg, Germany, prior to coming to the United States. She became an American Citizen in 2000. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.
Survivors include a daughter, Heidrun Awad, of Bluffton; a granddaughter Tamara (Greg) Awad-Lobe of Kitchener, Ontario; a grandson Karim (Kristie) Awad of Toronto, Ontario; and two great grandchildren Elias and Aisha Awad-Lobe.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
