Charles Swank 1928-2010
Charles F. Swank, 82, Bluffton, died at 2:55 p.m., Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
He was born March 12, 1928, to George and Emma Bigler Swank in Bluffton. He married Helen Zuercher on Feb. 2, 1952, and she died Aug. 20, 1983.
Mr. Swank retired as a driver salesman from C&G Distributing, Lima. He was a lifetime member of the Bluffton Sportsmen's Club, a member of the American Legion Post 382, was a veteran of World War II, and was a Bluffton High School graduate.
Survivors include sons, Steve, Bluffton, Jeff (Kim), Bluffton, and grandsons Travis (Jill) Wapakoneta, and Kyle, Bluffton; and granddaughter, Ashley Swank, Bluffton.
A brother, George, survives in Portage, Mich. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Harlan, and one sister, Dorothy Wiess.
A funeral service is at 3 p.m., Friday, March 19, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton, Rev. Douglas Adams will officiate.
Following the service visitation will be at the Sportsmen's Club depot. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the Bluffton Sportmen's Club or the Bluffton Athletic Boosters.
