Swim lesson registration underway at pool; lessons start June 17
It’s that time of year to cool off in the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. Here’s some quick facts about the pool, swim lessons, special closing dates and benefits for season pass holders.
Pool Hours:
Mondays to Fridays – 1 to 8 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays – 1 to 8 p.m.
Registration for swim lessons is underway now. The lesson schedules follows:
Session I
June 17-28
11:15 to 11:45 a.m.
Session II
July 8-July 19
11:15-11:45 a.m.
Session III
July 29-Aug. 9
11:15-11:45 a.m.
Private lessons are available upon request. To register your child for lessons stop by the pool during business hours. The pool phone number is 419-358-9661.
The pool will be closed early to swimming on certain dates due to swim meets. Here are those dates:
June 24 – closing 4 p.m.
June 27 – closing 4 p.m.
July 1 – closing 4 p.m.
July 11 – closing 6 p.m.
The pool will open at noon on the four above dates for Bluffton Community Swimming Pool membership holders.
This year Bluffton hosts the Western Ohio Aquatic League championships. The pool will be closed on Friday and Saturday, July 12-13.
Patrons may now follow the pool on Twitter at “Bluffton Pool.” The pool managers will provide updates on pool activities, closing and conditions.
Benefits for season pass holders.
Several benefits are available for pool season pass holders.
• Early admission (at noon) on June 6 and Aug. 10
• Early admission (at noon) on days when swim meets are held (see list above)
Pre-school swim
The third Saturday of June, July and August will be pre-school swims (5 and under) from noon to 1 p.m. These swims are to allow younger children to get used to the pool and explore what the pool as to offer. Those Saturdays are: June 15, July 20 and Aug. 17.
Life jackets will be available. Responsible adults will be allowed in the dive well and by the exit of the slide during this time to assist their child, if needed, with lifeguard approval.
Appreciation night
Sunday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. is season pass appreciation swim night. Games and snacks will be provided.
