Mary Jane Eikenbary 1923-2013
Mary Jane Pratt Eikenbary, 90, of Bluffton died at 9:57 a.m., Aug. 29, 2013, at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born May 23, 1923, in Hardin County to Oren and Nellie Witham Pratt who preceded her in death. On Sept. 1, 1940 she married Paul Eikenbary who died on Oct. 4, 2001.
Mrs. Eikenbary attended the Grace Gospel Church in Ada earlier in her life and later attended the First United Methodist Church in Bluffton.
She is survived by two children, Joyce (John) Harris and Larry (Valerie) Eikenbary both of Bluffton, eight grandchildren, Kimberly Grubb Louviaux, Norm (Shelly) Grubb, and Bill (Katie) Grubb, all of McComb, Jody (Michael) Benton of Ashland, Jeff (Samantha) Harris of Pandora, Brett (Chase Francis) of Bluffton, Laura (Barrett) Sampson of Dola, Michelle (Ali) Calis of Cincinnati, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great granddaughters, a sister Patricia Wilson of Lima, and a sister-in-law, Pat Pratt of Columbus Grove.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy, and her husband, Norman Grubb, four sisters Mildred (Ed) Sheperd, Helen (Carrol) Hughes, Imogene (David) Karcher, Janet (David) Bechdolt and three brothers, Bill (Ruby)Pratt, Lester (Wanda) Pratt, Dick Pratt and brother-in-law Joe Wilson.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Kimberly Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Bluffton. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
