"Lost Orchards" perform on Town Hall Concert Series Sept. 14
The next performance on the Town Hall Concert Series is "Lost Orchards," at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick of the village cultural affairs committee.
The free performance is in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.
Chappell-Dick describes the performers this way: "Ron Freeman started Lost Orchards before he ever knew he started the band. In 2000 he began making music with multi-instrumentalist Chris Vogt in Erie, Pa.
"Ten years later Freeman met Savannah at an open mic, convinced her to sing with him, and eventually to marry him.Together they play in and around their home base of Columbus, and they were one of the featured bands at the Mennofolk festival in Bluffton.
"Ron writes songs that are honest and nuanced while Savannah frantically does everything she can to make them sound good. With nearly 70% of their songs mentioning freight trains, their music is an inspired mix of nostalgic Americana and modern independent songwriters."
In a former band, the group released a four-song recording titled “Assassins” where each song is a surprising love story from the perspective of a presidential assassin.
